Private Jet Catering Tampa (KTPA / TPA): Peak Season Crew Guide
Private jet catering in Tampa follows the rhythm of the Gulf Coast's finest months. From late autumn to spring, the Tampa Bay area welcomes winter residents, sports fans, golfers and business travellers, and Tampa (KTPA / TPA) and St. Pete-Clearwater (KPIE / PIE) become the meeting point for owners, charter guests and the crews who fly them. This guide is written for those crews: how the peak season unfolds, what to order for passengers and for yourselves, and how to make every turnaround on the bay calm and well organised.
Global Diners prepares inflight catering in our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports, including Tampa, St. Pete-Clearwater, Orlando Executive (KORL / ORL) and Miami (KMIA / MIA). Our specialised team plans each order with you by email at order@globaldiners.com, and delivery is coordinated with your FBO or handler.

How the Tampa peak season unfolds
The season begins as northern winters set in, when second-home owners return to the bay and the Gulf beaches. It reaches its liveliest weeks from late January to March, when Gasparilla, the Florida State Fair, baseball spring training, the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and the Valspar Championship golf tournament follow one another. Sunday afternoons in autumn bring football fans, and the Christmas and New Year holidays fill the calendar with family trips.
Period | What brings flights | Global Diners suggestion for crews |
November to December | Winter residents arriving, holiday family trips | Order owner favourites early and confirm passenger numbers |
Late January | Gasparilla weekend | Festive platters and an early order for the weekend |
February to March | Spring training, the state fair, the Grand Prix and golf | Group-friendly boxes and generous drinks for team and fan flights |
April | Season wind-down and northbound repositioning | Crew meals and light trays for long sectors north |
Every sector | Crew on duty | Crew meals packed and labelled separately |
During these weeks our team suggests ordering a little earlier than the usual 24 hours and sharing the whole week's programme in one message, so our kitchens can prepare every delivery calmly.
Gulf Coast flavours for passengers
Tampa has a proud food history. Ybor City, the historic cigar district, gave the city its own version of the Cuban sandwich, and the Gulf provides grouper, shrimp and, from mid-October to mid-May, the famous stone crab claws. A few local touches make every departure feel like part of the trip.
From the Gulf: chilled stone crab claws with mustard sauce in season, shrimp cocktail and grouper bites.
Tampa classics: the Cuban sandwich with roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and salami on pressed Cuban bread, and deviled crab croquettes.
Light lunches: citrus salads with Florida oranges and avocado, grilled fish and tropical fruit platters.
Sweet finish: key lime pie, flan and guava pastries, with Cuban-style coffee.
Menu card favourites: caviar, smoked salmon, cheese and pastries.
Every item is labelled for allergens, sauces are packed separately and reheating guidance accompanies each hot dish. Halal, kosher and alcohol-free menus are available, and wine or champagne can be added subject to local rules.
Crew meals and long duty days
Peak season often means several sectors a day and a few nights on the bay. Crew meals deserve the same care as the passenger menu: balanced, satisfying and easy to enjoy between duties. Our kitchens pack them separately from passenger catering, clearly labelled with names and allergens, so passenger service and crew meals stay neatly organised.
Email order@globaldiners.com with the aircraft registration, airport, date, delivery time and passenger count.
Add the number of crew meals, with any dietary needs, separately from the passenger order.
For several sectors in one day, list each leg so our team can balance breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Order 24 hours ahead, or a little earlier during the peak weeks.
Receive your dedicated quote and written confirmation; delivery is coordinated with your FBO or handler.
In peak season, the calmest crews are the ones who plan the whole week before the first sector.

Keeping catering fresh on the Gulf Coast
Florida is warm throughout the year, and fresh catering is all about the cold chain. Our kitchens follow HACCP principles and keep every order chilled until delivery. Crews can help by agreeing a delivery time close to departure with the FBO or handler, storing chilled items straight away in the galley and favouring cold dishes such as seafood, salads and fruit for daytime sectors. Generous still and sparkling water, fresh juices and coconut water complete every order.
Orlando, Miami and Nassau
Many Tampa programmes include other Florida and Caribbean stops. Orlando Executive (KORL / ORL) is a short hop across the state for Central Florida, and Miami (KMIA / MIA) opens the way to South Florida and Latin America. Across the Florida Straits, Nassau (MYNN / NAS) is a popular weekend destination for owners heading to the Bahamas. With one team preparing every leg, preferences and allergies travel with the itinerary. Our guide to private jet catering at JFK, LAX and Miami covers more of the United States.

Private Aviation Peak Periods at Tampa: Catering at Tampa (KTPA / TPA)
Tampa International sits at the centre of a bay area that includes St. Petersburg, Clearwater and the Gulf beaches, and its liveliest period runs from late January to March. Gasparilla, the state fair, spring training, a street race and a PGA Tour event fall within a few weeks of each other, just as winter visitors fill the coast. Order a little earlier than the usual 24 hours, share passenger numbers early, and agree the delivery time with your FBO or handler. Gulf seafood, Cuban sandwiches and salads hold up well when packed chilled, and sealed individual meals keep quick turns easy.

Gasparilla Pirate Fest at Tampa (KTPA / TPA): Late January
Tampa's best-known tradition, when a fully rigged pirate ship sails into the bay and a parade of costumed krewes moves along Bayshore Boulevard. Hundreds of thousands of people attend, and many locals host private parties along the route. Visitors arriving for the weekend are welcome to order a little early. Fun, shareable platters, Spanish-Cuban snacks and cold drinks suit the festive mood, while breakfast boxes help guests on the Sunday morning flight home.
Festival, race and tournament dates around Tampa Bay change from year to year, so please confirm them with our team when booking.
Things to do around Tampa (KTPA / TPA)
Tampa's waterfront Riverwalk links museums, parks and restaurants along the Hillsborough River, and Bayshore Boulevard has one of the longest continuous sidewalks in the country, ideal for an evening walk. Busch Gardens and the Florida Aquarium are popular with families. Across the bay, St. Pete Beach, Clearwater Beach and Caladesi Island offer white sand and calm Gulf water, and Fort De Soto Park is excellent for kayaking and shelling. Golf resorts, sport-fishing charters and sunset sails from the marinas complete the picture, and Tampa Bay's professional teams play football, baseball and hockey.
Culture and heritage near Tampa (KTPA / TPA)
Ybor City, founded by cigar makers in the 1880s, preserves brick factories, social clubs and wrought-iron balconies, and still has hand-rolled cigar shops. The Henry B. Plant Museum occupies a Moorish Revival former hotel with silver minarets. In St. Petersburg, the Dalí Museum holds one of the largest collections of Salvador Dalí's work outside Spain, and the Museum of Fine Arts and the Chihuly Collection add to a strong arts scene.
Also on the Global Diners network: St. Pete-Clearwater (KPIE / PIE)
St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport sits on Old Tampa Bay in Pinellas County, between St. Petersburg and Clearwater, on the lively peninsula west of Tampa. Business aviation serves the Gulf beaches of Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach, second-home owners, sports teams and fans, and a substantial business community in finance, healthcare and technology. The area is at its liveliest from January to April, when baseball spring training, golf and winter visitors combine, and again in summer when families visit the beaches. Downtown St. Petersburg's waterfront museums and Tampa's business district are both within easy reach.
Clearwater Beach is famous for its fine white sand and sunset celebrations at Pier 60, while Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island state parks are reached by ferry or a short drive near Dunedin. Boating, fishing charters and dolphin-watching cruises leave from the marinas, and golf is plentiful, including at Innisbrook. The Pinellas Trail, a converted rail line, is popular with cyclists. Downtown St. Petersburg's waterfront parks, the St. Pete Pier and Tampa's attractions across the bay complete the picture.
