Private Jet Galleys: Catering Guide to the Most Popular Business Jets on European Routes

Private jet galleys come in many shapes, from full kitchens on ultra-long-range flagships to compact galleys on super-midsize jets. The aircraft type shapes how a catering order is prepared, packed and served, and the best crews plan their orders around the galley as carefully as around the passengers.

Global Diners prepares VVIP inflight catering in its own kitchens in Paris, Nice and Madrid, and serves more than 2,500 airports through our kitchens. This guide looks at the business jets most often seen on European routes and explains how their cabins and galleys influence the catering order.

Why the aircraft type matters for catering

Every galley has its own equipment, storage and chilled space. A large-cabin jet may offer ovens, generous chillers and space for full table settings, while a super-midsize jet typically has a more compact galley designed for efficient service on shorter sectors. Knowing the aircraft type allows our team to recommend dishes, portions and packaging that suit the equipment on board.

That is why the aircraft registration is the first detail we ask for. It tells us the type, the cabin layout and, combined with the flight time and passenger count, the kind of service the crew is planning.

Flight time matters just as much. A forty-minute hop along the Riviera calls for a light selection that can be served quickly after take-off, while a six-hour flight to the Gulf allows a relaxed sequence of canapes, main course, cheese and dessert. With these details in hand, our team suggests the most suitable dishes from the Global Diners menu card and packs each order so the crew can find, finish and serve every item with ease.

The following aircraft are among the most familiar on European ramps, from Paris (LFPB / LBG) to Nice (LFMN / NCE) and Geneva (LSGG / GVA). Ranges are approximate manufacturer figures and vary with configuration and conditions.

Ultra-long-range flagships

The Bombardier Global 7500 and its successor the Global 8000, together with the Gulfstream G700 and G800, define the top of the market. Their cabins are divided into several living zones and their galleys are designed for full dining services, making them ideal for multi-course menus, freshly baked breakfasts and elegant plated presentation.

On European sectors these aircraft often fly shorter legs than their range allows, for example Paris (LFPB / LBG) to Nice (LFMN / NCE) or London (EGGW / LTN). A refined lunch or a selection of canapes and desserts is usually the right choice for these flights, while longer departures towards Dubai (OMDB / DXB) or New York (KTEB / TEB) call for a complete dinner and breakfast service.

The Gulfstream G650ER

The G650ER remains one of the most widely operated ultra-long-range jets, valued for its reliability and global support. Its well-equipped galley suits plated lunches and dinners, and crews often appreciate dishes that are finished on board for the freshest presentation.

Large-cabin jets and VIP airliners

The Dassault Falcon 8X combines a large cabin with excellent airfield performance, which makes it a familiar sight at Cannes (LFMD / CEQ) and in the Alps at Sion (LSGS / SIR). Dassault's new flagship, the Falcon 10X, is designed around a wide cabin with a generous galley for long-range dining.

The Airbus ACJ319neo brings airliner-sized space to private aviation and is often configured for larger delegations. Catering for these cabins focuses on volume and variety, from shared platters and buffets to individual plated meals served in several courses.

Super-midsize jets

The Embraer Praetor 600 and the Cessna Citation Longitude are favourites for European business trips and shorter transatlantic missions. Their galleys are compact and efficient, so we recommend dishes that are served cold or simply reheated, presented in packaging sized for the galley.

  • Continental breakfasts, viennoiseries and fresh fruit platters

  • Composed salads, sandwiches and wraps

  • Cheese and charcuterie boards

  • Light desserts and petits fours

  • Hot dishes that reheat gently in the galley oven where fitted

Presentation and service on board

Presentation is where the galley and the cabin meet. On large-cabin jets, crews often plate each course on board, so we deliver components packed separately with clear labels and simple finishing notes. On smaller jets, ready-to-serve presentation in elegant packaging allows the crew to serve quickly between take-off and descent.

Tableware, glassware and linen are usually supplied by the aircraft, and our packaging is designed to work alongside them. Wine, champagne and soft drinks can be added to the order on request, chilled and packed for the galley. Our team can also prepare special requests such as birthday cakes or children's dishes when they are mentioned with the order. Wine and champagne are offered subject to local rules.

Tips for ordering by aircraft type

Whatever the aircraft, a few details help our team prepare the ideal order:

  1. Share the aircraft registration so we can match the order to the galley.

  2. Indicate the flight time and the services planned on board.

  3. Confirm the passenger count and any dietary requirements.

  4. Tell us which items the crew prefers to finish on board and which should arrive ready to serve.

  5. Order ideally 24 hours before delivery to allow fresh, seasonal preparation.

The perfect order is designed for the galley as much as for the guests: the right dishes, the right portions and packaging that makes service effortless for the crew.

Dining and shopping near Dubai (OMDB / DXB)

Dubai's dining stretches from Emirati, Lebanese and Iranian kitchens in Deira and Bur Dubai to fine-dining restaurants in DIFC, Downtown and the beach hotels. Al Seef along the Creek mixes heritage-style buildings with cafés and restaurants. The Gold Souk and Spice Souk in Deira are a short drive from the airport, and The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and City Walk host luxury and international brands. Ramadan iftar tents are a seasonal highlight.

Local flavours for flights from Dubai (OMDB / DXB)

Dubai's food scene reflects the city's population, with Levantine, Persian, Indian, Pakistani and Emirati kitchens side by side. Shawarma, falafel and manakeesh topped with za'atar or cheese are everyday favourites and can be prepared in cabin-friendly portions. Persian dishes such as chelo kebab with saffron rice and jewelled rice with barberries make generous hot meals, while Indian biryanis and Pakistani grills reflect the city's large South Asian community. Arabic sweets are a highlight: kunafa with soft cheese and syrup, pistachio baklava, ma'amoul biscuits filled with dates or walnuts, along with the pistachio and kunafa chocolate bars that Dubai has made famous. Fresh dates, Arabic coffee and karak tea are part of any traditional welcome, and fresh mango, pomegranate and lemon-mint juices are popular choices. For lighter tastes, Dubai's international restaurants also offer sushi, Mediterranean salads and healthy bowls. Meat served in the UAE is halal as standard. Our kitchens selected specifically for private aviation prepare each order, and restaurant pick-up from Downtown, DIFC and Jumeirah addresses is available on request.
