Private Jet Catering Fiji: Nadi (NFFN / NAN) and Suva (NFNA / SUV) for Remote Island Trips

Private jet catering in Fiji is the first taste of the South Pacific for many travellers. Nadi (NFFN / NAN) on the western coast of Viti Levu is the international gateway to Denarau, the Mamanuca and Yasawa island groups and the private island resorts scattered across the archipelago, while Suva Nausori (NFNA / SUV) serves Suva, the capital. Business jets arrive from Australia, New Zealand, North America and Asia, and for many passengers Fiji is the final destination of a long journey across the Pacific.

Global Diners prepares VVIP inflight catering in our own kitchens in Paris, Nice and Madrid and in our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports, including Nadi, Suva and the main Pacific gateways. This guide explains how to plan catering for remote island trips through Fiji: long-range arrival and departure menus, Fijian and Indo-Fijian flavours, provisions for onward transfers and the seasons that shape the year.

Planning catering for a remote island trip

A trip to Fiji often combines a long sector across the Pacific with a short onward transfer by seaplane, helicopter or boat to an island resort. Catering works best when both are planned together. Our specialised team needs the aircraft registration, date, arrival or departure time, passenger and crew numbers, the handler and any dietary requirements, together with the passengers' onward plans.

  • Long sectors: full meal services, crew meals for each duty period, breakfast and snacks.

  • Arrival: light, refreshing menus so passengers land ready to enjoy the islands.

  • Onward transfers: small welcome boxes with fruit, sandwiches and cold drinks for the seaplane or boat.

  • Return flight: a complete menu for the journey home, prepared for the departure time.

Every item carries allergen labelling, sauces are packed separately and hot dishes come with clear reheating guidance. Our approach follows HACCP principles and a careful cold chain from kitchen to aircraft, which is especially valuable in a tropical climate.

Fijian and Indo-Fijian flavours on board

Fiji's cooking brings together iTaukei traditions, the spices of the Indo-Fijian community and the fruit and seafood of the Pacific. Many of these dishes are fresh, bright and perfect for the cabin.

In Fiji, the journey ends where the island begins. The menu on board should already feel like the South Pacific.

Long-range menus across the Pacific

Many flights to Fiji are long: from the US West Coast, Hawaii, Asia or the Middle East, passengers may spend many hours on board. For these missions, our team suggests services that follow the destination's time zone, so passengers arrive rested. A typical flight from North America might begin with a full dinner, continue with a light snack and end with a tropical breakfast before landing. On the way home, a fresh menu prepared at Nadi brings the flavours of the islands back on board.

Our guide to ultra-long-range menus explores this in detail, and our article on crew catering for layovers covers crews spending a few nights in Fiji.

Ordering in five steps

  1. Email order@globaldiners.com with the aircraft registration, airport, date, delivery time and passenger count.

  2. Add dietary needs, allergies and VIP preferences in the same message.

  3. Order 24 hours ahead, or a little earlier during the dry season and the Australian and New Zealand school holidays.

  4. Receive your dedicated quote and a written confirmation from our specialised team.

  5. Our team coordinates the delivery time with your FBO or handler at Nadi (NFFN / NAN).

Fiji through the seasons

The dry season, from May to October, brings sunny days, calm seas and the peak of the holiday season, when families from Australia and New Zealand fill the resorts. The warmer months from November to April are lush and green, with tropical fruit at its best. Nadi's Bula Festival brings colour to the town in the middle of the year, and Diwali lights up the Indo-Fijian community in the autumn. Our team adapts every menu to the season, with refreshing salads and chilled seafood in the warmest months.

Island hops: Auckland, Sydney and Honolulu

Fiji sits at the heart of many South Pacific itineraries. Auckland (NZAA / AKL) and Sydney (YSSY / SYD) are a few hours away, and Honolulu (PHNL / HNL) is a natural stop on the way to or from North America. Our team prepares catering at each airport with the same Global Diners menu, so one email can cover every leg. Our Maldives private jet catering guide shares more ideas for remote island journeys, and our guide to global aviation catering coordination explains how one contact can cover a whole trip.

The Global Diners client portal is coming very soon. It is designed to bring the Global Diners menu, order requests, confirmations and documents into one space for crew, operations and finance. Until it opens, every request goes through order@globaldiners.com.

Nadi (NFFN / NAN) Event Calendar for Private Jet Catering

Nadi's liveliest catering seasons coincide with Fiji's dry season and with holidays in Australia and New Zealand, when resorts on Denarau and the islands are full and helicopter and seaplane transfers are in full swing. Festivals and religious holidays add further highlights. Place orders a little earlier than the standard 24 hours, confirm passenger numbers once they are clear, agree a delivery time with the handler that allows for onward transfers, and choose easy-to-carry formats such as individual boxes for passengers heading straight to the islands.

Bula Festival at Nadi (NFFN / NAN): July

Nadi's Bula Festival is a week-long town celebration with parades, food stalls, rides, music and the crowning of a festival queen. It coincides with the winter holiday period, when many Australian and New Zealand visitors are in Fiji. We recommend ordering a little earlier during festival week. Fijian-themed platters, tropical fruit and Indo-Fijian snacks capture the festive spirit, and pick-up from a restaurant in Nadi or Denarau is available on request.

Festival, holiday and school-holiday dates vary each year, so please confirm the timing with our team when ordering.

Things to do around Nadi (NFFN / NAN)

Denarau Island, close to Nadi, offers golf, beach clubs and the marina, from which boats leave for day trips to the Mamanuca Islands, known for snorkelling, sandbars and island resorts. Further north, the Yasawa Islands offer remote beaches and manta ray encounters in season. Surfers head for Cloudbreak and other reef breaks near Tavarua. On the mainland, the Garden of the Sleeping Giant displays orchids, while the Sabeto mud pools and hot springs are a relaxing stop. The Coral Coast to the south has the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park and good diving.

Culture and heritage near Nadi (NFFN / NAN)

Western Viti Levu combines iTaukei village traditions with the heritage of Indian indentured labourers brought to work on sugar-cane plantations from 1879. The Sri Siva Subramaniya temple in Nadi, built in traditional Dravidian style, is the largest Hindu temple in the South Pacific. The Sigatoka area is known for its pottery traditions.

Also on the Global Diners network: Suva Nausori (NFNA / SUV)

Nausori International Airport serves Suva, Fiji's capital, from the Rewa River delta north-east of the city. It is the base for many domestic services to the outer islands and handles regional flights, while long-haul international flights generally use Nadi. Business aviation flights here are mostly official and institutional: Suva hosts the national government, the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, the University of the South Pacific, diplomatic missions and regional agencies.

Suva's harbourfront promenade and Thurston Gardens make an easy introduction to the capital, with colonial buildings and the busy municipal market nearby. Colo-i-Suva Forest Park, just north of the city, offers rainforest trails, birdlife and natural swimming pools. Pacific Harbour, about an hour west, is known for adventure activities, including shark diving at Beqa Lagoon, river rafting in the Upper Navua gorge and golf. Boat trips to small islands off the coast and cultural visits to Fijian villages can be arranged locally, while the Rewa delta near the airport is a landscape of rivers, rice fields and fishing communities.
