Private Jet Catering for Major Golf Tournaments: Ryder Cup, The Open and US Majors

Private jet catering for major golf tournaments follows the rhythm of the golf calendar. Each spring the season's first major brings the world's golf fans to Augusta (KAGS / AGS), summer turns attention to the great links courses of Britain and Ireland, and the Ryder Cup brings Europe and the United States face to face. For owners, sponsors, players' families and hospitality guests, the flight is part of the tournament experience, and good catering sets the tone for every round.

Global Diners prepares inflight catering in our own kitchens in Paris, Nice and Madrid and in our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports, from Augusta to Shannon (EINN / SNN) and Dundee (EGPN / DND). At these airports, delivery is coordinated with your FBO or handler. This guide covers tournament weeks, menus for a day at the course, and simple planning tips for the busiest days of the golf year.

Augusta (KAGS / AGS): every April, the golf world flies in for the first major of the season.

The golf calendar from the air

The men's major championships follow a familiar order. The Masters at Augusta National opens the season in early April, followed by the PGA Championship in May and the US Open in June at venues that change from year to year. The Open Championship, golf's oldest major, is played each July on a links course in Britain or Northern Ireland. The Ryder Cup, held every two years, returns to Europe in 2027, when Adare Manor in County Limerick welcomes the teams, a short drive from Shannon.

Because tournament dates and venues are confirmed by the organisers each year, our team always checks the schedule with you when you order. What does not change is the pattern of the week: practice days, the four rounds and a final day that ends with many departures in a short window.

Planning catering for tournament week

  1. Send the whole week at once: arrival, practice days, tournament days and the final departure in one message to order@globaldiners.com.

  2. Order the Sunday return early: many aircraft leave within a few hours of the final putt, so our team plans this leg with your FBO or handler in advance.

  3. Think about the course day: breakfast boxes and light snacks suit early tee times and long days walking the fairways.

  4. Confirm passenger numbers: hospitality groups often change size during the week, and a short reply on the same thread keeps every order accurate.

  5. Plan crew meals separately: crews on standby through a tournament week appreciate balanced meals ordered as their own line.

During tournament weeks, sharing your schedule a few days ahead, rather than the usual 24 hours, helps our kitchens prepare the full Global Diners menu with ease. Our guide to peak days for private jet catering explains how busy event days are planned, and our article on slot times and catering delivery covers timing on the ground.

On the last day of a major, the best catering is the one already on board when the guests return from the eighteenth green.

The Masters: Augusta in spring

Augusta in April is all azaleas, dogwood and Southern hospitality. Guests flying in for the Masters enjoy menus with a gentle Southern accent: pimento cheese and egg salad sandwiches in honour of the course's famous classics, shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, peach cobbler and sweet tea. Lighter options such as grilled fish, salads and fruit balance the week, and the Global Diners menu adds caviar, smoked salmon and fine pastries for the special moments.

  • Breakfast before the gates open: biscuits with honey butter, eggs, fresh fruit and good coffee.

  • A day on the course: compact boxes with sandwiches, crudités and cookies for guests returning to the aircraft.

  • Evening departures: Georgia peaches, pecan pie and a celebratory glass of champagne subject to local rules.

The Open and the Ryder Cup: golf's European summer

Links golf brings its own atmosphere: sea air, changing skies and long summer evenings. When The Open is played at St Andrews or Carnoustie, Dundee (EGPN / DND) is the closest airport, and guests appreciate warming menus such as Cullen skink, smoked salmon, Aberdeen Angus beef, oatcakes with Scottish cheeses and shortbread. Our article on golf trips to Scotland explores the Scottish courses in more detail.

In 2027, the Ryder Cup comes to Ireland. Adare Manor, near Limerick, is about half an hour's drive from Shannon, and the week promises some of the most passionate golf of the decade. Irish flavours travel beautifully: smoked Atlantic salmon with brown soda bread, Irish lamb, farmhouse cheeses, oysters and apple tart with cream. For team supporters and sponsors, hospitality platters and celebration menus can be prepared for every day of the competition.

Menus for a day at the course

Golf days are long, often starting at sunrise and ending well after the last group finishes. Menus should be easy to enjoy at any time, refreshing in warm weather and comforting in the wind and rain of a links course. Every Global Diners item is labelled for allergens, sauces are packed separately and hot dishes come with reheating guidance. Halal, kosher and alcohol-free menus are available, and restaurant pick-ups can also be coordinated on request. The Global Diners client portal is coming very soon. It is designed to bring the Global Diners menu, order requests, confirmations and documents into one space for crew, operations and finance. Until it opens, every request goes through order@globaldiners.com.

Event Weeks at Augusta (KAGS / AGS): Private Jet Catering in Augusta and the Central Savannah River Area

At Augusta Regional, one week shapes the whole year. During the Masters the airport becomes the region's main private-jet park, with heavy arrivals over the weekend before the tournament, steady movements during practice and competition days, and a concentrated rush of departures after the final round. Early planning keeps every departure calm. Smaller peaks come with the August defence technology conference and the holiday season, while summer weather is best planned with flexible timings. For all of these, plan beyond the standard 24 hours, send passenger numbers early, agree drop-off windows with your FBO or handler, and choose formats that travel well on quick turns.

Masters Tournament week at Augusta (KAGS / AGS): Early April

Golf's first major of the year fills Augusta Regional with business jets of every size, as its long runway handles larger aircraft than the city's other airfields. Sunday evening departures after the final round are among the most concentrated of the year. Order well in advance, and consider a combination of hot dinners in thermal carriers for evening legs, sealed cold boxes for day-trip patrons and crew meals for long waits. Confirm delivery slots with your FBO or handler before arrival.

Event dates and storm patterns differ every year, so please check the latest timings with our team as you place the order.

Things to do around Augusta (KAGS / AGS)

Beyond golf, Augusta offers the Augusta Canal, where guided boat tours follow the waterway past historic mills, and a towpath trail popular with cyclists. The Savannah Rapids Pavilion, at the head of the canal, is a scenic starting point. Riverwalk Augusta connects downtown parks along the water. Aiken, a short drive into South Carolina, is known for polo, steeplechase racing in spring and Hitchcock Woods, one of the largest urban forests in the United States. Clarks Hill Lake, north of the city, offers boating, fishing and lakeside camping. Several public golf courses around the city are open to visitors all year.

Culture and heritage near Augusta (KAGS / AGS)

The Augusta Museum of History and the Morris Museum of Art cover regional heritage and Southern art. The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History honours a pioneering local educator. Historic Enterprise Mill and Sibley Mill recall the city's industrial past along the canal. The Imperial Theatre, a 1918 venue, and the Miller Theater host concerts and performances. Historic churches and 19th-century homes line the downtown streets near the river.

Also nearby: Shannon (EINN / SNN)

Limerick's King John's Castle sits on the river and tells the city's medieval story, while the Hunt Museum holds a wide collection of art and antiquities. The Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum recalls the transatlantic flying-boat era and the birth of Irish coffee. Ennis has a medieval friary, and Clare's traditional music culture is alive in villages such as Doolin and Ennistymon. Shannon also opened the world's first airport duty-free shop in 1947.

Limerick's Milk Market is a covered weekend food market with local producers and street food. Ennis has a compact town centre with independent shops, pubs and cafés, and Doolin and Lahinch offer seafood and pub dining by the sea. Adare's thatched-cottage main street holds craft shops and restaurants. Shoppers look for Irish knitwear, Celtic jewellery, Burren smoked salmon and local whiskey, and Limerick's O'Connell Street has the main city-centre retail.

We recommend sharing your full tournament itinerary a few days ahead, including the Sunday return, at order@globaldiners.com. Our specialised team confirms every order in writing.

Which airport serves the Ryder Cup 2027 at Adare Manor?

Shannon (EINN / SNN) is about half an hour's drive from Adare Manor. Our kitchens prepare the Global Diners menu for Shannon, with delivery coordinated with your FBO or handler.

Can I order Southern dishes for flights from Augusta?

Yes. Pimento cheese sandwiches, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, peach cobbler and pecan pie can be requested alongside the Global Diners menu. Each request receives a dedicated quote.

Do you cater for flights to The Open in Scotland?

Yes. When The Open is played at St Andrews or Carnoustie, Dundee (EGPN / DND) is the closest airport, and the same Global Diners menu and ordering process apply.

How far ahead should I order catering at Augusta Regional (KAGS / AGS) for the Masters?

As early as possible. Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field (KAGS / AGS) receives the largest share of Masters private traffic, and our kitchens plan their production for the week in advance. Send provisional numbers as soon as your trip is booked, then confirm the final count closer to arrival. Our team will coordinate delivery windows with your FBO or handler, so every delivery is perfectly timed during the tournament.

Can I order South Carolina-style barbecue for a flight from Augusta (KAGS / AGS)?

Yes. Pulled pork with mustard-based Carolina sauce, smoked chicken and traditional sides can be arranged for departures from Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field (KAGS / AGS), either from our kitchens or through restaurant pick-up on request. For the cabin, we recommend sauces packed separately and sides in sealed containers. Tell our specialised team your preferences and we will include them in your quote.
