Superyacht Season Catering via Sint Maarten (TNCM / SXM): Flights to the Yachts and Regattas
Superyacht season catering via Sint Maarten (TNCM / SXM) is one of the most elegant briefs our team prepares each winter. From December to April, the north-eastern Caribbean becomes the world's favourite cruising ground for large yachts, and Princess Juliana is where owners, charter guests and their families step off long-range jets before stepping aboard. The flight is the first chapter of the holiday, and the return flight is the last memory of it.
Global Diners prepares VVIP inflight catering in our own kitchens in Paris, Nice and Madrid and in our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports, with Sint Maarten (TNCM / SXM) at the centre of our Caribbean planning. This guide follows the superyacht season from the first arrivals in December to the spring regattas, with menus, timings and island hops to Antigua (TAPA / ANU), St Barth and Anguilla (TQPF / AXA).

Why Sint Maarten is the superyacht gateway
Princess Juliana combines a runway that welcomes long-range business jets with a location at the heart of the yachting Caribbean. Just beyond the airport, Simpson Bay Lagoon shelters some of the region's best-known superyacht marinas, and its bridges open on a published schedule to let yachts in and out. Within a short sail lie St Barth, Anguilla, Saba and St Kitts, and Antigua is a comfortable passage to the south-east.
For guests, the journey is remarkably short: from the business aviation terminal to the marina in minutes, or onwards by turboprop or tender to St Barth. For crews, it means planning a flight that ends at the waterside, with catering that sets the tone for a week or more on board. Business aircraft are welcomed by Atlantic Aviation, Menzies Aviation and Signature Aviation, and our team coordinates every delivery with the FBO you choose.
Period | On the water | Global Diners catering idea |
December | Yachts arrive from the Mediterranean, charter season opens, Antigua Charter Yacht Show | Welcome menus with caviar, smoked salmon and light Caribbean starters |
Christmas and New Year | The busiest weeks of the season around St Barth and Sint Maarten | Festive menus, celebration platters, champagne subject to local rules |
February | Racing season begins, including the RORC Caribbean 600 from Antigua | Sailing-team boxes, crew meals, hearty breakfasts |
March | St. Maarten Heineken Regatta and the St Barths Bucket | Sharing boards, chilled seafood, tropical fruit |
April | Les Voiles de Saint-Barth, Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta and Sailing Week | Light menus for the season's last flights home |
Owner visits and guest changes
Over a season, the same yacht may welcome several groups: the owner's family for the holidays, charter guests in January, friends for a regatta in March. Each change of guests usually means a flight in and a flight out of Princess Juliana, sometimes on the same day. Our team can plan both directions together, so the departing guests enjoy a generous farewell menu while the arriving guests are welcomed with something light and fresh.
Arrival flights: the first evening on board
Most guests arrive in the late afternoon or evening after a long flight from Europe or North America. The inbound catering should leave them refreshed rather than full, ready for a first dinner on deck. A light lunch early in the flight, a rest period with fruit and small savoury bites and a delicate afternoon tea before landing is a sequence that works beautifully.
Flights from Europe cross several time zones and often land in the Caribbean afternoon, while flights from New York or Miami are short enough to feel like a relaxed lunch. Telling our team where the guests are coming from, and how they like to travel, helps us suggest the right rhythm for the service.
Light starters: seared tuna, ceviche-style fish, salads with mango and avocado.
Afternoon tea: finger sandwiches, scones and French pastries, with a selection of teas.
Refreshment: coconut water, fresh juices, still and sparkling water, champagne subject to local rules.
Children's menus: simple, colourful dishes and fruit for younger guests flying with the family.
Every item carries an allergen label, hot dishes travel with reheating guidance and sauces are packed separately. Halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan and alcohol-free menus are available for every flight.

Regatta season: Sint Maarten, St Barth and Antigua
From February, the Caribbean turns to racing. The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta fills Simpson Bay with sails each March, the St Barths Bucket gathers some of the world's largest sailing yachts in Gustavia, Les Voiles de Saint-Barth follows in April and Antigua hosts its Classic Yacht Regatta and Sailing Week as the season closes. Owners, sponsors and guests often fly between the islands to follow the racing.
Regatta weeks are the liveliest of the season, so we recommend ordering a few days ahead and sharing passenger numbers as soon as they are known. Sailing teams flying in on business jets appreciate generous, practical catering: breakfast boxes, wraps, salads, grilled chicken and fish, fruit and plenty of water. Owners and guests enjoy a more celebratory menu, with seafood platters, cheese boards and desserts. Our Caribbean seafood menus guide shares more ideas.
Guest preferences from the yacht
Yacht crews know their guests well. When the chief steward or the owner's office shares preferences, favourite dishes or allergies with us, our team carries them into the flight menu, so the experience feels continuous from the jet to the deck. Every item is labelled, and dietary menus are prepared with the same care as the rest of the service.

In superyacht season, the flight and the yacht are one journey. The catering on board the jet sets the tone for everything that follows.
Island hops to St Barth and Anguilla
Many guests continue from Sint Maarten to St Barth (TFFJ / SBH), whose short runway welcomes turboprops and small aircraft on a flight of only a few minutes. For these hops, chilled boxes and small sharing platters are ideal: a few bites of smoked salmon, fresh fruit, macarons and chilled drinks. Anguilla, across the channel, welcomes business jets at Clayton J. Lloyd International, where Lloyd's Aviation handles business aircraft.
Our guide to the St Barth hop from Sint Maarten explains the connection in detail, and our Sint Maarten crew guide covers Princess Juliana through the year.
Return flights at the end of the charter
The flight home often leaves on the morning the charter ends. Guests have enjoyed a week of sea air, so the return menu can be generous: a full breakfast after take-off, a refined lunch with Caribbean touches such as grilled mahi-mahi, lobster in season or a Creole-spiced salad, and a cheese course with fruit. For a flight landing at Paris (LFPB / LBG) or Nice (LFMN / NCE), the next leg can be served planeside by our own kitchens.
Crews who stay on the island between legs are spoilt for choice. Grand Case, on the French side, is known for its waterfront restaurants and roadside lolos, Maho and Simpson Bay are close to the airport, and Marigot's market brings Creole spices and tropical fruit. Crew meals can also be delivered to the aircraft with the passenger catering on departure day.
Further north, the Bahamas offer a different style of cruising in the shallow waters of the Exumas and Eleuthera. Our Nassau crew guide and our guide to Rock Sound and South Eleuthera cover the same season from the Bahamian side.

VIP Inflight Catering for Events Near Sint Maarten (TNCM / SXM)
Princess Juliana is the main long-range jet base for the north-eastern Caribbean, and many passengers continue from here by turboprop or boat to St Barths, Anguilla and the superyacht fleet. From December to April, the winter yacht season, regatta weeks and holiday travel all overlap, so the whole island is at its liveliest. Ordering several days ahead, a little earlier than the usual 24 hours, keeps everything smooth; lock in passenger numbers and dietary notes early, and fix a delivery time with your handler for each leg. Plan two sets of catering where needed: full meals for the jet and compact boxes for the onward island hop.

St. Maarten Carnival at Sint Maarten (TNCM / SXM): April to May
St. Maarten Carnival is the Dutch side's biggest festival, with nights of music in the Carnival Village and the grand parade in Philipsburg, timed around King's Day. Visitors from across the region join locals, and the island is at its most festive at the start and end of the festival weekend. Agreeing delivery times with the handler keeps parade days relaxed. Sharing platters, Caribbean-style sandwiches and fresh juices suit groups travelling after the celebrations.
Event schedules are published by organisers each year and can shift, so please confirm the timing with our team when ordering.
Also nearby: Antigua (TAPA / ANU)
V. C. Bird International, on the north-east of Antigua, is the main arrival point for business aviation travellers to Antigua and Barbuda. The island is a sailing centre, with English Harbour and Falmouth hosting superyachts, regattas and Nelson's Dockyard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Luxury resorts, private island retreats and villa estates draw winter visitors from the UK and North America, and Barbuda is reached by short flight or boat. The season runs through the northern winter into spring, peaking with major yachting events.
Antigua is famous for having a beach for every day of the year, from Half Moon Bay on the Atlantic coast to Dickenson Bay and Darkwood Beach on the Caribbean side. English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour are the yachting heart of the island, and Shirley Heights offers sweeping views over both, with a well-known Sunday evening party. Stingray City, catamaran trips around the island and diving on the reefs are popular. Barbuda, a short flight or ferry ride away, has long pink-sand beaches and a large frigatebird colony. Golf, kitesurfing and zip-lining in the rainforest of the south-west add variety.
