Monaco Grand Prix by Private Jet: Inflight Catering via Nice (LFMN / NCE)

Global Diners Team

10 min read

Monaco Grand Prix private jet catering is one of the most anticipated services of the Riviera year. Each late spring, the streets of Monte Carlo become a racing circuit, Port Hercules fills with superyachts, and Nice (LFMN / NCE) welcomes a wave of private aircraft from across Europe, the Gulf and North America. Guests arrive for the race, the parties and the atmosphere, and they expect the same standard of hospitality on board as they will find in Monaco itself.

Global Diners prepares that hospitality in its own production kitchen in Nice and delivers planeside, directly to the aircraft. Our kitchens in Paris (Le Bourget) and Madrid, together with our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports, mean that the inbound leg, the stay and the flight home can all be planned with one team and one email.

Why the Monaco Grand Prix is unique

First run in 1929, the Monaco Grand Prix is one of the oldest and most prestigious races in motorsport and forms part of the famous Triple Crown alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The circuit winds for just over 3.3 km through the principality, past Casino Square, along the harbour and through the tunnel, with the sea never more than a few metres away.

The race has traditionally taken place in late May, and for 2026 it moved to the first weekend of June, opening the European season. Whatever the exact date in a given year, the format stays the same: practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday, with a social calendar that starts days earlier. For catering, this means a concentrated window of arrivals before the weekend and a strong wave of departures on Sunday evening and Monday.

Monaco has the circuit, the harbour and the palace. Nice has the runway and our kitchen. Together they make race weekend effortless.

Arriving via Nice Côte d'Azur

Monaco has no runway of its own, so almost every private jet guest lands at Nice, around 30 km away. From there, a helicopter transfer to the Monaco Heliport takes only a few minutes, while a chauffeured car follows the coast road or the motorway. Cannes (LFMD / CEQ) is also a popular alternative for lighter jets, with onward road transfers along the coast.

Because Nice is where our own kitchen is based, Global Diners catering for race weekend is cooked, plated and packed locally, then delivered planeside at the time your crew requests. You can find station details on our page for Nice (LFMN / NCE), and a broader guide in our article on private jet catering in Monaco.

Our article on flexible catering when schedules change explains how we work when timings move.

What to serve on board for race weekend

Grand Prix guests tend to travel in groups: families, business partners and friends sharing an aircraft and a celebration. The Global Diners menu card covers every moment of the journey, and each item is prepared to HACCP principles, kept in the cold chain and labelled for allergens.

  • Inbound arrivals: Mediterranean starters, fresh seafood, salads with Provençal herbs and light desserts that set the tone for the Riviera.

  • Celebration flights: caviar service, canapés and sharing platters designed for a cabin full of guests.

  • Sunday night departures: a warm main course for the galley oven, a cheese selection and pastries for the late hours.

  • Monday mornings: breakfast boxes, viennoiseries, fruit and fresh juices for an easy start.

  • Crew: balanced crew meals so pilots and cabin crew enjoy the same quality as the guests.

Champagne and fine wines can be added to the order, subject to local regulations. Our guide to private jet wine pairing offers ideas for matching wines with each course.

Restaurant pick-ups from Monaco

Some guests want to take a taste of Monaco home with them. Global Diners can coordinate restaurant pick-ups from selected venues, such as Beefbar Monaco, and bring the order to the aircraft alongside items from our own kitchen. Read more in our article on Beefbar Monaco private jet catering, and see how it works at the airport in our guide to restaurant pick-up for private jets at Nice.

Planning around a peak weekend

Grand Prix weekend is among the busiest periods of the year at Nice, alongside the Cannes Film Festival and the summer season. A little forward planning keeps every order calm and precise.

  1. Share your aircraft registration, arrival and departure dates and passenger count as early as possible.

  2. Confirm delivery times with your crew once slots and handling are settled.

  3. List every dietary preference and allergy in the first request.

  4. Plan crew meals for each day the aircraft stays on the ground.

  5. Send updates to order@globaldiners.com as soon as the itinerary evolves.

Our guides to peak-day catering on the Riviera and late-night private jet catering in Nice cover the busiest days of the Riviera calendar and evening departures in more detail.

Flying in from across Europe

Many race-weekend flights start in another European business aviation hub. Global Diners can prepare catering for the outbound leg as well, so the experience is consistent from the first course to the last.

Combining the Grand Prix with the rest of the season

Late spring on the Riviera is rich in events. The Cannes Film Festival usually takes place in May, the Monte-Carlo Masters tennis tournament opens the season in April, and the Monaco Yacht Show closes it each September. Many principals plan several trips, and our guides to the Monte-Carlo Masters and Monaco Yacht Show show how catering adapts to each event.

Crew care during the race weekend

Aircraft often stay on the ground at Nice for several days during the Grand Prix, and crews appreciate meals that fit their rest and duty times. Global Diners prepares crew catering alongside passenger orders, from fresh lunches to balanced dinners. Our article on crew catering during layovers explains how to plan meals across multi-day trips.

Event-Season Private Jet Catering at Nice (LFMN / NCE)

Nice-Côte d'Azur is the main airport for the French Riviera and Monaco, and one of Europe's busiest airports for business aviation. Traffic is driven by Monaco residents and family offices, yacht owners joining boats in Monaco, Antibes and Cannes, and summer villa guests heading to Cap Ferrat, Èze and Saint-Tropez. Helicopter transfers link the airport to Monaco in minutes. Demand peaks from May to September, with sharp spikes around the Monaco Grand Prix and the Cannes Film Festival, while autumn and winter bring steady corporate and residential flights.

Monaco Grand Prix at Nice (LFMN / NCE): May or June (varies)

The Formula 1 street race around the harbour of Monaco is one of the most demanding weekends of the year for Nice, the closest major airport to the Principality. Arrivals build from Thursday, and Sunday evening becomes a dense departure wave. Our own production kitchen prepares orders for planeside delivery, so confirm menus several days before race week. Sealed individual boxes suit quick turns, while celebratory platters and fine wines work well for owners' parties flying home.

Festival and race dates on the Riviera shift from one year to the next, so please confirm the exact timings with our team when you order.

Dining and shopping near Nice (LFMN / NCE)

Niçoise cooking is everywhere: socca, pissaladière and salade niçoise in the old town, and seafood restaurants around the port. The Riviera also has a high concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants, from Monaco to Cannes. The Cours Saleya market offers flowers, produce and local food. For shopping, visitors go to Avenue Jean Médecin in Nice, the Golden Square in Monte-Carlo and the Rue d'Antibes and Croisette boutiques in Cannes.

Local flavours for flights from Nice (LFMN / NCE)

Niçoise cooking is built on olive oil, vegetables and fish, and much of it travels well. Pissaladière, the onion tart topped with anchovies and black Nice olives, slices neatly into cold canapés, as does socca, the thin chickpea pancake that is best served warm on the ground or as crisp bites in the cabin. Pan bagnat, the round Niçoise sandwich of tuna, egg, tomato and olive oil, makes a hearty crew or passenger lunch. Petits farcis (stuffed tomatoes, courgettes and onions), tourte de blettes, a sweet chard pie with pine nuts and raisins, and a classic salade niçoise are all available on request. Local produce includes Menton lemons, Cailletier olives and their oil, Mediterranean red mullet and sea bream, and figs and apricots in summer. For the wine list, Bellet is the city's own small appellation, with crisp whites from Rolle, alongside Côtes de Provence rosé; lemonade made with Menton lemons is a fresh non-alcoholic option. Our own production kitchen in Nice prepares trays for every flight, and pick-up from Riviera and Monaco restaurants, including Michelin-starred addresses, is available on request.

FBOs at Nice (LFMN / NCE): the business aviation terminals here include Signature Aviation, AviaVIP and DC Aviation G-OPS. Our own kitchen delivers planeside, with timings agreed with the FBO or handler you choose.

Also nearby: Cannes (LFMD / CEQ)

Cannes-Mandelieu is the business aviation airport closest to Cannes, set beside the sea in Mandelieu-la-Napoule. It suits light and midsize jets and turboprops, and is popular with passengers heading straight to the Croisette, the Palais des Festivals, Antibes, Grasse and the hills behind the coast. Traffic is closely tied to Cannes' calendar of international events, from property and film to advertising, television and yachting, and to the summer season on the western Riviera. Larger aircraft typically use Nice, a short drive along the coast.

FBOs at Cannes (LFMD / CEQ): the business aviation terminals here are run by Sky Valet. Our team coordinates every delivery with the FBO or handler you choose.

Frequently asked questions

The race has traditionally been held in late May, and in 2026 it took place on the first weekend of June. Check the official calendar for each season and send your catering request as soon as your dates are set.

Which airport do private jets use for the Monaco Grand Prix?

Most private jets land at Nice (LFMN / NCE), around 30 km from Monaco, with a short helicopter transfer or a car journey to the principality. Cannes (LFMD / CEQ) is an alternative for lighter jets.

Does Global Diners deliver catering planeside at Nice during race weekend?

Yes. Global Diners prepares your order in its own kitchen in Nice and delivers it planeside, directly to the aircraft, at the time your crew requests.

How far in advance should I order Grand Prix catering?

We recommend ordering 24 hours before delivery, and sharing your plans earlier for race weekend. Email order@globaldiners.com with the registration, date, delivery time and passenger count.

Can I order catering at Cannes-Mandelieu (LFMD / CEQ) during the Cannes Film Festival?

Yes. Cannes-Mandelieu (LFMD / CEQ) is covered throughout the Cannes Film Festival in May, when private arrivals and departures concentrate around the Croisette. Our team works with our kitchens to plan quantities and delivery windows for this period. Ordering early is the best way to secure menus and timings during festival fortnight.

Can you add a tarte tropézienne or Provençal aperitif to my Cannes order?

Yes, for flights from Cannes-Mandelieu (LFMD / CEQ), a tarte tropézienne, tapenade, anchoïade with crudités and fougasse can be added to any order on request. Our team packs the pastry so the cream stays chilled until service, and the aperitif items are boxed ready to plate in the cabin. Let us know the number of guests when ordering.
