Private Jet Catering London: Farnborough (EGLF / FAB), Biggin Hill (EGKB / BQH), Luton and Stansted

Private jet catering in London begins with a choice of airport. Few cities offer business aviation as many options: Farnborough (EGLF / FAB) to the south-west, London Biggin Hill (EGKB / BQH) to the south-east, London Luton (EGGW / LTN) to the north and London Stansted (EGSS / STN) to the north-east, with London City (EGLC / LCY) in the Docklands. Each airport has its own character, its own passengers and its own rhythm, and catering works best when it is planned with that character in mind.

Global Diners prepares VVIP inflight catering in our own kitchens in Paris, Nice and Madrid and in our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports, including every major London business aviation airport. This guide takes the four airports one by one, then looks at British flavours on board, the London events calendar and a simple ordering routine that works wherever your aircraft is parked.

London Farnborough (EGLF / FAB), where Global Diners delivers private jet catering
A silver tea service on board: British afternoon tea is a favourite on flights from London's business aviation airports.

Farnborough (EGLF / FAB): business aviation by design

Farnborough is dedicated entirely to business aviation, and it shows. The terminal is calm and elegant, and the airport is close to the M3, Surrey, Berkshire and the Thames Valley, which makes it a favourite of corporate flight departments and owners living west of London. Passengers here often travel for business during the week and for racing, polo and country weekends in summer.

For Farnborough departures, we see a taste for refined, understated menus: a seasonal breakfast for early flights to Geneva or Paris, an elegant cold lunch for a short European sector, or a full afternoon tea for a family heading south for the weekend. Delivery is coordinated with the FBO at the time agreed for your departure.

Biggin Hill (EGKB / BQH): close to the City and Westminster

London Biggin Hill sits south-east of the capital and offers some of the quickest road access to central London, Canary Wharf and the City. It welcomes business owners, financiers, sports teams and families, and it hosts the Air Charter Expo each September, when charter brokers and operators meet on site.

Biggin Hill missions are wonderfully varied, so our team often prepares two kinds of orders side by side: compact executive menus for day trips to European capitals, and larger, more generous services for teams and groups. Kentish produce, from cherries and apples in season to local cheeses, makes a charming regional touch.

Luton (EGGW / LTN): long-range departures north of London

London Luton combines an airline airport with one of the largest business aviation operations in Europe. Its location north of the capital suits passengers from Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and north London, and its long runway welcomes everything from light jets to long-range aircraft and VIP airliners. Several FBOs serve the business aviation area.

With so many long-range departures, Luton orders often include several meal services, crew meals and a wide selection of dietary menus. Halal, kosher and alcohol-free menus are available, and every item carries an allergen label, so the crew can serve with confidence across many time zones.

Stansted (EGSS / STN): space for larger cabins

London Stansted, north-east of the capital, offers generous apron space and several FBOs, which makes it a natural choice for large-cabin jets, VIP airliners and government or sports charters. Cambridge, Newmarket and the countryside of Essex and Suffolk are close by, and the airport is well placed for passengers heading to the City by rail or road.

Larger cabins call for careful planning: precise passenger and crew counts, a clear service sequence and packing designed for bigger galleys. Our specialised team confirms each detail in writing, so the crew can prepare the service before the passengers arrive.

British flavours for the cabin

London flights are a lovely opportunity to serve British classics. Afternoon tea travels beautifully in tiered boxes: finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and small cakes. Smoked salmon from Scotland, Cornish crab, English asparagus in spring and strawberries in June and July bring the season on board. A British cheese board with Cheddar, Stilton and Wensleydale is a favourite on the evening flight home.

English sparkling wine from Kent and Sussex has become a fine alternative to Champagne and is offered subject to local rules, alongside elderflower pressé and English teas. Caviar, smoked salmon, cheese and pastries from the Global Diners menu card are available on every flight, as described in our private jet galley catering guide.

Five airports, one city and one standard: the catering should feel equally calm wherever the aircraft is parked.

The London events calendar

London's summer season brings a wave of business aircraft: Royal Ascot in June, Wimbledon from late June, Henley Royal Regatta, the Goodwood Festival of Speed and, in even-numbered years, the Farnborough International Airshow in July. Winter brings departures to the Alps, the Caribbean and the Gulf over Christmas and New Year. During these weeks we recommend ordering a little earlier than the usual 24 hours and confirming passenger numbers as early as possible.

Restaurant pick-ups from London can also be coordinated on request, with the transfer time built into the schedule. Our article on how caterers, FBOs and handlers coordinate explains how the timing is agreed.

Royal Ascot at Farnborough (EGLF / FAB): June

Five days of top-class flat racing attended by the Royal Family, with a strict dress code and a strong social calendar. Farnborough is one of the closest business aviation airports to the course, so owners and guests arrive across the week. Racegoers often want a celebratory return flight: Champagne, English strawberries, smoked salmon blinis and fine sandwiches are classic choices. Confirm orders well before race week and agree evening delivery times with your handler.

Race meetings, regattas and show dates move slightly each year, so check the confirmed dates with our team as part of your order.

Local flavours for flights from Farnborough (EGLF / FAB)

Farnborough sits close to some of England's best farmland and rivers, which suits classic British cabin service. Afternoon tea is a favourite: finger sandwiches of cucumber, egg and cress or smoked salmon, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and a selection of small cakes, all of which travel well in tiered boxes. Hampshire is known for watercress, grown in its chalk streams, and for trout from rivers such as the Test, which can be served hot-smoked with horseradish cream. A full English breakfast, bacon rolls or kippers suit morning departures, while a British cheese board might include Cheddar, Stilton, Wensleydale and Hampshire soft cheeses. Seasonal English strawberries in June and July, game in autumn and Cornish crab salads are popular additions. Southern England now produces highly regarded sparkling wine from chalk soils similar to Champagne's, and English gin and elderflower pressé are good alternatives; a traditional pot of English breakfast or Earl Grey tea completes the service. Our kitchens prepare the trays, and pick-up from London restaurants is available on request.

Also nearby: London Biggin Hill (EGKB / BQH)

London Biggin Hill, south-east of central London in the borough of Bromley, is dedicated to business and general aviation and is known for its Second World War heritage. It is convenient for central London, Westminster and Mayfair, and for homes and estates across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Passengers include business owners, financiers and private families, as well as sports teams and event visitors. Traffic is busy throughout the year, with additional summer movements around London's major sporting and social events.

Kent is known as the Garden of England for its orchards, cherries, apples and hops, and its chalk slopes now produce well-regarded English sparkling wine. Country pubs and gastropubs serve local lamb, game and ales, and many villages hold farmers' markets. Bromley and Sevenoaks have high streets with independent shops, while Bluewater in Kent is a large shopping centre. For luxury retail and fine dining, central London's Mayfair and Knightsbridge are within a drive.
