Flying Private Across Brazil: Catering Tips for Multi-City Itineraries

Flying private across Brazil means covering a country the size of a continent. A single week can take passengers from the business districts of São Paulo to the government buildings of Brasília, the beaches of Florianópolis, the rainforest around Manaus and the falls at Foz do Iguaçu. Each region has its own climate, its own food and its own rhythm, and the catering on every leg should feel connected, consistent and easy for the crew.

Global Diners prepares VVIP inflight catering in our own kitchens in Paris, Nice and Madrid and in our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports. Across Brazil, our team serves São Paulo Guarulhos (SBGR / GRU), Rio Galeão (SBGL / GIG), Brasília (SBBR / BSB), Florianópolis (SBFL / FLN), Manaus (SBEG / MAO) and Foz do Iguaçu (SBFI / IGU), among many others. These tips will help you plan catering for a multi-city Brazilian itinerary.

Planning a multi-city Brazilian itinerary: one request can cover the catering for every leg.

Think of the itinerary as one menu

The most useful habit on a multi-city trip is to send the whole itinerary at once. When our specialised team sees every leg together, we can balance the menu across the week: a Brazilian breakfast on the first morning, a light working lunch on the short hop to Brasília, a seafood dinner leaving Florianópolis, and an Amazonian touch on the way out of Manaus. Passengers enjoy variety, and the crew receives a coherent plan rather than a series of separate orders.

  • One request for the whole trip: every leg in one email to order@globaldiners.com, with a dedicated quote.

  • Variety across the week: regional dishes alternate with international classics, so no menu repeats.

  • Consistent packing: the same labels, reheating guidance and galley-ready trays at every airport.

  • Simple updates: if the schedule moves, our team adjusts the following legs in one conversation.

Distances, climate and timing

Brazil's distances are often underestimated. São Paulo to Manaus is a flight of several hours, comparable to crossing much of Europe, and a leg from Brasília to Florianópolis takes longer than many passengers expect. Our team plans the number of services accordingly: a full meal and a snack on longer sectors, a lighter tray on short hops. Brazil also spans several time zones, so breakfast, lunch and dinner are planned around the local time of departure and arrival.

Climate changes just as much. The Amazon and the north-east are warm and humid all year, while the south can be cool in winter, and Brasília has a long dry season from May to September. In warmer regions, our kitchens favour fresh, light dishes and pay particular attention to the cold chain. We recommend ordering 24 hours ahead at every airport, and a little earlier for regional airports, festival weeks and the summer holidays.

On a multi-city trip, consistency is the luxury. Every leg should feel like part of the same journey.

Regional flavours along the way

Each stop offers a chance to bring local character on board. From São Paulo Guarulhos (SBGR / GRU), São Paulo's immigrant traditions inspire esfihas, kibe, Japanese-inspired dishes and Italian antipasti. From Brasília (SBBR / BSB), the Cerrado brings baru nuts, pequi and seasonal fruit into salads and desserts. From Florianópolis (SBFL / FLN), the island's farmed oysters and mussels inspire chilled seafood salads, and the Azorean heritage of the coast adds seafood stews with pirão.

In Manaus (SBEG / MAO), tambaqui and pirarucu, the great fish of the Amazon, are delicious grilled, and cupuaçu and açaí make refreshing desserts. Around Foz do Iguaçu (SBFI / IGU), the border with Argentina and Paraguay inspires chipa cheese breads and grilled meats. And from Rio, picanha, feijoada and tropical fruit platters bring the city's generous spirit on board.

Crew comfort on long Brazilian rotations

Multi-city trips are demanding for crews, who may fly several sectors in a few days and spend nights in hotels far from home. Crew meals deserve the same attention as passenger catering: balanced, satisfying and easy to eat between duties. Our team can include crew trays on every leg, clearly labelled and packed separately from the passenger service. Our guide to crew catering on layovers shares further ideas.

When a positioning leg flies empty, a simple crew-only order keeps everyone well fed, as described in our article on crew-only ferry flight catering. And for planning the galley itself, our private jet galley catering guide explains how to make the most of limited space.

Dietary menus, drinks and restaurant pick-ups

Halal, kosher and alcohol-free menus are available at every airport on a Brazilian itinerary, together with vegan and vegetarian dishes, and every item carries an allergen label. Brazilian wines from the Serra Gaúcha, champagne and cachaça are offered subject to local rules. Fresh juices of passion fruit, cashew fruit, acerola and mango, coconut water and guaraná are always appreciated, especially in the warmer north.

Restaurant pick-ups can be coordinated on request in any city on the route, with the transfer time built into the schedule. Delivery is always coordinated with your FBO or handler, and our team confirms each leg in writing.

Extending the journey across Latin America

Many Brazilian itineraries continue to neighbouring countries. Our new stations at Buenos Aires Ezeiza (SAEZ / EZE) and Querétaro (MMQT / QRO) have received very positive feedback from crews, and they make it easy to plan catering for a trip that combines Brazil with Argentina or Mexico. Our article on coordinating aviation catering worldwide explains how one team can look after an entire international journey.

Peak Dates for Inflight Catering at Brasília (SBBR / BSB)

In Brasília, the political calendar sets the pace for private aviation. When Congress is in session, weekday mornings and Thursday afternoons are busy with legislators and lobbyists travelling to and from their states. State visits, international summits and national ceremonies bring delegations with strict schedules and security arrangements. The long dry season brings warm, sunny days, so our kitchens favour fresh, light dishes and generous hydration. In peak periods, order earlier than the standard 24 hours, confirm passenger lists and dietary needs as early as possible, agree delivery windows with the handler and choose discreet, well-labelled formats that suit official travel.

Congressional sessions at Brasília (SBBR / BSB): February to mid-July and August to December

Brazil's National Congress meets in two legislative periods each year, and many deputies and senators fly in at the start of the week and leave on Thursday or Friday. Private and charter traffic follows this pattern closely. Catering for these short domestic flights should be quick and practical: breakfast trays, light lunches and individual boxes. Order the day before for early departures, and let our team know of any recurring weekly flights so we can plan ahead.

Congressional schedules, official ceremonies and fair dates in Brasília can change from year to year, so please confirm timings with our team when ordering.

Things to do around Brasília (SBBR / BSB)

Brasília is best explored by looking at its architecture. The Monumental Axis runs from the TV Tower, with its viewing platform and weekend craft fair, to the Three Powers Square. Lake Paranoá, an artificial lake, is used for stand-up paddle, sailing and lakeside dining, and the JK Bridge, with its three steel arches, is a city icon. City Park is one of the largest urban parks in Latin America. Day trips lead to waterfalls and canyons in the Chapada dos Veadeiros, Cerrado wildlife reserves and the colonial town of Pirenópolis in Goiás.

Culture and heritage near Brasília (SBBR / BSB)

Brasília is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its modernist urban plan. Oscar Niemeyer's buildings define the city: the Cathedral, with its curved concrete columns and stained glass, the National Congress with its twin towers and domes, the Itamaraty Palace and the National Museum. The Memorial JK tells the story of the city's founder, and the Dom Bosco Sanctuary glows blue inside.

Also in this guide: Florianópolis (SBFL / FLN)

Hercílio Luz is on the southern half of Santa Catarina Island, the home of Florianópolis, capital of Santa Catarina. Private traffic is strongly seasonal. In summer, the beach clubs and villas of Jurerê Internacional, the lagoon at Lagoa da Conceição and the island's 40-plus beaches attract visitors from São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Montevideo, with New Year and Carnival the busiest moments. Year-round, the city's technology companies, state government and real estate sector generate business flights. The airport also serves the mainland coast, from the whale-watching bays of Garopaba to the resorts north of the island.

Santa Catarina Island has beaches for every taste: Jurerê Internacional for beach clubs, Praia Mole and Joaquina for surf, Campeche for long sandy stretches and calm Daniela in the north. Lagoa da Conceição, a large lagoon in the centre of the island, is known for water sports and sunset dinners. Trails lead to Lagoinha do Leste and to the dunes of Joaquina, where sandboarding is popular. Boat trips visit the Anhatomirim fortress, and the Hercílio Luz suspension bridge, reopened after restoration, lights up the waterfront at night and is best seen from the bayside promenade.

FBOs at every airport in this guide

Here are the business aviation terminals (FBOs) at each airport mentioned above. Our team coordinates every catering delivery with the FBO or handler you choose, and our own kitchens deliver planeside at Paris (LFPB / LBG) and Nice (LFMN / NCE).
