NBAA-BACE Private Jet Catering: Convention Week Guide for Henderson (KHND / HSH) and Las Vegas

NBAA-BACE private jet catering is a small but telling part of the business aviation calendar's biggest week in North America. Each autumn, the National Business Aviation Association brings operators, flight departments, manufacturers and service providers together for its Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, and the 2026 edition takes place in Las Vegas from 20 to 22 October. Aircraft arrive from across the continent and beyond, and every one of them needs crew meals, passenger catering and a calm plan for the flight home.

Global Diners prepares inflight catering in our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports, including Henderson (KHND / HSH), Las Vegas (KLAS / LAS) and Orlando Executive (KORL / ORL), a previous host city of the convention. This guide covers how convention week shapes catering, menus for exhibitors, demonstration flights and visiting delegations, the best way to order for several days in a row, and how to combine the trip with the West Coast and the East Coast.

What convention week means for catering

NBAA-BACE combines an exhibition hall full of suppliers, an education programme and a static display of aircraft. In Las Vegas years, the static display is traditionally held at Henderson Executive Airport, so the airport becomes a showroom for the newest business jets, while the main exhibition and meetings take place in the city. Manufacturers fly in demonstrator aircraft, operators bring their fleets to meet clients, and flight departments travel in to compare cabins, galleys and services.

For catering, the week has a distinctive shape. Some aircraft stay parked on display and welcome visitors from morning to evening, others fly demonstration sectors with prospective owners on board, and many simply bring teams in on Monday and take them home on Thursday. Each of these patterns calls for a different kind of menu, and planning them together keeps the whole week relaxed.

Menus for exhibitors and static display aircraft

An aircraft on display is a cabin that is seen, photographed and visited all day. Catering here is about presentation and freshness rather than full meals: small portions that look beautiful on the galley counter and stay fresh throughout the day, served on real tableware. Our team suggests ordering a morning delivery and, for longer days, a second afternoon delivery, so that every visitor sees the cabin exactly as an owner would.

  • Morning: viennoiseries, yoghurt with granola, sliced fruit and fresh juices.

  • Midday: canapés, finger sandwiches, salads in individual jars and a cheese selection.

  • Afternoon: petits fours, macarons, chocolate and coffee service.

  • For the menu card moment: caviar, smoked salmon and blinis for a special client visit.

  • For the crew: separate meals, packed and labelled, for a long day on the apron.

Every item is labelled for allergens, sauces are packed separately and reheating guidance accompanies each hot dish. Halal, kosher and alcohol-free menus are available, and champagne can be added for a client reception subject to local rules.

Demonstration flights: the menu as part of the cabin

A demonstration flight lets a future owner experience the cabin in the air, and the catering is part of that experience. A carefully presented tray, served on fine china by the cabin crew, shows the galley, the ovens and the service flow at their best. For these sectors, our team recommends choosing a short selection from the Global Diners menu card, with one hot dish that shows off the galley oven and a dessert that looks as good as it tastes.

During convention week, the cabin is the showroom, and the catering is the welcome.

For crews new to an aircraft type, our guide to galley catering on private jets covers storage, reheating and presentation, and our article on VIP cabin crew catering coordination shows how to plan a smooth service from order to table.

Ordering for several days in a row

Convention week often means one aircraft and several deliveries: arrival, display days, perhaps a demonstration sector and the flight home. Sending the whole programme in one message lets our team plan each delivery, avoid duplication and keep dietary details consistent from day to day.

  1. Email order@globaldiners.com with the aircraft registration, airport, dates and the delivery time for each day.

  2. Note whether the aircraft is on static display, flying demonstration sectors or both.

  3. Add passenger numbers, dietary needs, allergies and any VIP preferences.

  4. Order 24 hours ahead, or a little earlier for convention week.

  5. Receive your dedicated quote and written confirmation; delivery is coordinated with your FBO or handler.

Restaurant pick-ups from the celebrated dining rooms of the Las Vegas Strip can be coordinated on request, which can be a lovely touch for a client dinner on the flight home. Our guide to private jet catering for Las Vegas events covers the rest of the city's calendar.

Beyond the convention: West Coast and East Coast connections

Many teams combine convention week with other visits. Van Nuys (KVNY / VNY) is a short flight away for meetings in Los Angeles, and our guide to private jet catering in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco covers the West Coast. Flight departments heading back to the New York area often arrive at Teterboro (KTEB / TEB), while Orlando Executive (KORL / ORL) welcomes operators and guests to Central Florida throughout the year. With one team preparing every leg, preferences and allergies travel with the itinerary.

For European teams, convention week is often one stop in a longer autumn programme that may include Geneva, Paris or Dubai. Our article on catering technology and the CJI Dubai 2026 event looks back at another meeting point of the industry.
