The Global Diners Crew Training Programme is launching soon. It is a structured training programme for cabin crew on inflight catering service, created by Global Diners for the people who bring every menu to life on board. Cabin crew are the final and most visible link between our kitchens and the passengers, and this programme is our way of supporting them in that role.

Global Diners prepares inflight catering in our own kitchens in Paris, Nice and Madrid and in our kitchens across more than 2,500 airports, with one menu, one specialised team and a dedicated quote for every request. Every day, we see how much the crew's care shapes the passenger's experience, on a short hop from Edinburgh (EGPH / EDI) or a transatlantic departure from Shannon (EINN / SNN). This announcement explains why the programme matters to us and how crews can hear about it first.

Edinburgh, served by Edinburgh (EGPH / EDI) airport
Edinburgh: crews across our network, from Edinburgh (EGPH / EDI) to the Riviera, will be among the first to hear about the programme.

Why we are creating a crew training programme

A beautiful menu becomes a memorable meal only when it is served well. The way a dish is stored, warmed, plated and presented, the pace of the service and the small gestures around it all make the difference between good catering and an exceptional experience. Cabin crew carry that responsibility with great skill, often across many aircraft types, time zones and cultures.

Clear, practical guidance on catering service is something every crew member values. The Global Diners Crew Training Programme is our response: a structured training programme for cabin crew on inflight catering service, launching soon, designed to celebrate and support the craft of serving food in the sky.

What crews already receive from Global Diners

While the programme is being prepared, every Global Diners order already supports the crew in the galley. These are the foundations our team builds on every day.

  • Allergen labelling on every item, so crews can answer passengers' questions with confidence.

  • Reheating guidance with every hot dish, for consistent results in any galley.

  • Sauces and garnishes packed separately, so each plate can be finished just before service.

  • Preparation under HACCP principles and an unbroken cold chain from our kitchens to the aircraft.

  • Clear written confirmations from our specialised team at order@globaldiners.com.

  • Planeside delivery by our own kitchens at Paris (LFPB / LBG) and Nice (LFMN / NCE), and delivery at the FBO in Madrid (LEMD / MAD).

The craft of catering service

Inflight catering service is a craft that combines hospitality, food knowledge and calm organisation. Experienced crews know that a few simple habits make every service shine: reading the passengers' rhythm, presenting each course with care and keeping the galley tidy and organised. These are timeless principles of good service, and they are at the heart of why we believe a dedicated programme will be valuable to crews.

Cabin crew are the final link between our kitchens and the passengers' table.

Every menu we prepare is completed by the crew. When the service is calm, confident and graceful, the meal becomes part of the journey.

Our earlier guide to cabin crew catering training and workflow shares a simple daily routine for planning and receiving catering. The new programme is a separate initiative, and we will share more about it when it opens.

Great service, wherever the aircraft lands

Business aviation crews serve passengers from every culture, often on the same day. A breakfast for a European principal, a halal lunch for guests from the Gulf, a kosher dinner on a transatlantic sector and a light vegetarian supper before landing may all be part of one rotation. Global Diners supports these missions with halal, kosher and alcohol-free menus, and with wine and champagne subject to local rules, so the crew can welcome every guest with the right dishes and the right gestures.

Seasons and occasions matter as well. A festive menu at Christmas, a celebration cake for a birthday, light summer dishes on island hops or a warming winter menu over the Alps each ask for a slightly different service. Crews who enjoy this variety are the reason the Global Diners menu travels so well, and the programme is our way of thanking them and supporting their craft.

Built with our kitchens and our team

Our own kitchens in Paris, Nice and Madrid see countless details every season, from the way a tray is packed to the way a dessert is finished. Our specialised team speaks with flight attendants, pilots and flight departments every day. The programme draws on that shared experience, with one goal: helping crews deliver the Global Diners menu at its very best.

It also sits naturally alongside our other projects for the people we serve, including the Global Diners client portal. The Global Diners client portal is coming very soon. It is designed to bring the Global Diners menu, order requests, confirmations and documents into one space for crew, operations and finance. Until it opens, every request goes through order@globaldiners.com.

Edinburgh and the Lothians High Season: Ordering Private Jet Catering at Edinburgh (EGPH / EDI)

Edinburgh is Scotland's capital and financial centre, and its airport handles steady corporate traffic year round. Demand for private-jet catering follows the city's lively calendar. In August the city's festivals fill Edinburgh with visitors from around the world; Hogmanay brings a second peak at the turn of the year; rugby internationals at Murrayfield fill weekends in February and March; and golfers arrive all summer for St Andrews and East Lothian. Order earlier than the standard 24 hours in these periods, confirm passenger numbers as soon as possible, agree a delivery time with your FBO or handler, and choose warming dishes in thermal carriers for winter departures or chilled platters for summer flights.

Edinburgh's August festivals at Edinburgh (EGPH / EDI): August

The Edinburgh International Festival and the Festival Fringe, the world's largest arts festival, run side by side through August, with the Book Festival alongside. Performers, producers, sponsors and audiences arrive from around the world, and the city is at its liveliest. Order as early as possible, keep menus flexible for late-changing plans, and favour individually packed boxes and finger food. Scottish smoked salmon, oatcakes and Scottish cheeses are available on request. Agree delivery timing with your FBO or handler well ahead, so every departure is planned with care.

Festival and fixture dates in Edinburgh shift each year, so check the latest timings with our team when you book.

Dining and shopping near Edinburgh (EGPH / EDI)

Edinburgh has a strong fine-dining scene, much of it in Leith on the waterfront, and menus showcase Scottish langoustines, scallops, salmon, Aberdeen Angus beef, game and haggis. Whisky bars and tasting rooms cover Scotland's distilling regions. For shopping, George Street and Multrees Walk host luxury brands, Princes Street has department stores, and the curving Victoria Street is lined with independent shops. Tartan, cashmere, Harris Tweed and single malt whisky are classic purchases to take home.

Also nearby: Shannon (EINN / SNN)

Shannon (EINN / SNN), on the Shannon Estuary in the west of Ireland, is a long-established transatlantic gateway for business aviation and a popular technical stop between Europe and North America. It is also the natural arrival point for golf at Adare and Lahinch and for the Cliffs of Moher, and catering delivery is coordinated with your FBO or handler.

FBOs at every airport in this guide

Here are the business aviation terminals (FBOs) at each airport mentioned above. Our team coordinates every catering delivery with the FBO or handler you choose, and our own kitchens deliver planeside at Paris (LFPB / LBG) and Nice (LFMN / NCE).
